One Thousand Whispers

What if I wrote you something almost every day? Poems and stories for the age.

teary toast

Everything,

everything makes me cry.

It's unwanted though

this gut reaction

to the evisceration

of all we know

and love.

I read a poem,

this morning

and wept while

I was eating toast,

feeling vaguely annoyed

as the butter

was already salted.
